Federal Work Study

If you received notice after completing your FAFSA that you are eligible for federal work-study, there are several things you need to know. Eligible students can work in a work-study job on campus with eligible employers. However, employment and this offer are not guaranteed.

The amount shown on your offer notification is the potential amount you may earn if hired. It is up to you to apply for a work-study job and be hired for that job. Once hired, your wages do not credit to your account. Your wages are paid directly to you in a paycheck. If you wish to make a payment with your wages, please submit the payment to the Office of the Bursar.

To be eligible for federal work-study you must:

  • Complete a FAFSA
  • Be financially eligible for work study (as determined by your FAFSA)
  • Be enrolled for at least six credit hours per semester
  • Maintain at least a 2.0 GPA
  • Work a maximum of 20 hours per week
